CBO Billing Specialist - Full Time Days - Remote (Michigan Residents)

About the role

This role is responsible for managing insurance accounts receivable for Henry Ford Health (HFH) with minimal supervision, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient financial, insurance, and demographic information in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Resolving payer denials
• Following up on claims requiring additional payer response
• Overseeing the billing and collection of payments across all HFH hospitals, outpatient clinics, and employed physician practices

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office or healthcare-related environment
• Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle role is preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred
• Understanding of CPT/HCPCS codes and revenue coding is preferred
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines and billing processes, including claim submission, denial management, and routine follow-up
• Completion of college coursework in accounting, business, or healthcare administration is preferred

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet third-party payer requirements
