CBO Billing Specialist - Full Time Days - Remote (Michigan Residents)

General Summary

Under minimal supervision, this role is responsible for managing insurance accounts receivable for Henry Ford Health (HFH). The position ensures the accuracy and completeness of patient financial, insurance, and demographic information in accordance with established policies and procedures, enabling compliant claim submissions to third-party payers.

Responsibilities

• Resolving payer denials
• Following up on claims requiring additional payer response
• Oversight of billing and collection of payments across all HFH hospitals, outpatient clinics, and employed physician practices

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office or healthcare-related environment
• Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle role preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS codes and revenue coding preferred
• Completion of college coursework in accounting, business, or healthcare administration preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
