Job Summary
To provide care, preparation and positioning of patients to obtain high quality diagnostic images utilizing CT studies.
Education and Credentials
- Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology or graduate of approved ARRT Certification program required.
- Completion with a passing score of a cross sectional anatomy exam required. If Certified, cross sectional anatomy exam not required.
- Radiology Technologist required.
- The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R) required.
- The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT CT) within 3 Years required.
- NYS Cert For IV Contrast Admin 90 Days required.
- Must become certified in CT within 3 years of hire/transfer and sit for first exam within 18 months from hire/transfer and successfully pass within 3 years from hire/transfer. Certification must remain current and active.
- Employees hired into job prior to 8/24/04 are grandfathered for ARRT-CT.
- ARRT -R must be current and maintained for any employees hired/transferred effective 6/12/12.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 days from hire or transfer required.
Experience
- 1 year of experience in CT preferred.
- 1 year of experience in X-ray Tech position required.
