About the Role

As our Priest, you will provide essential sacramental, spiritual, and emotional care to patients, families, and staff, aligning with our mission. You will respond on-call to administer emergency sacraments, document ministry encounters, attend department meetings, and collaboratively provide excellent patient care while adhering to all policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide for sacramental needs across the hospitals, including the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Sacrament of the Sick (anointing), and daily mass.
• Deliver spiritual and emotional care to patients, their families, and hospital staff.
• Provide pastoral care and counseling consistent with each patient’s treatment plan.
• Participate in hospital dedication/blessing ceremonies and conduct religious rituals/services for patients, families, staff, and volunteers as requested.
• Triage patient needs and complete initial visits to newly admitted patients, documenting comprehensive spiritual assessments and care plans.
• Complete an average of 12 substantive patient care visits per 8-hour shift.
• Assist patients in completing advance directive paperwork.
• Participate regularly in patient rounds on assigned units.
• Take an active role in addressing concerns with patients, families, and healthcare professionals by participating in clinical case and family conferences.
• Operate with compassion and professionalism during emergencies.
• Complete all mandatory training and strictly comply with HIPAA and corporate security policies regarding confidential patient information.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and successful completion of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education, required upon hire.
• At least one year of supervised hospital chaplain experience, which may include Clinical Pastoral Education, required upon hire.
• Catholic Chaplain certification, required within 24 months of hire (preferred upon hire).
• Preferred experience in acute care, hospice, or long-term care.

Pay

$25.55 - $38.00 per hour.
