About the Role

We are seeking a part-time Catholic High School Teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom during the 2026-27 academic year at our center in Chicagoland near the Lemont area. The position is approximately 8 hours per week, with classes held on Mondays and Thursdays between 8:45 AM and 3:15 PM. Some preparation work will be required at home. Childcare/nursery is provided.

Classes may include Algebra, Biology, Religion, and Latin. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors are trained to deliver instruction and classroom management according to Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Teach high school-level courses in a classical and Catholic tradition, including subjects such as Algebra, Biology, Religion, and Latin.
  • Prepare for classes at home and deliver instruction in a highly structured, Socratic classroom environment.
  • Adhere to provided curriculum and grading guidelines.
  • Maintain a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship and uphold RCA’s standards for classroom management.

Requirements

  • Deep love for the Catholic faith and a commitment to living it day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to your state in life.
  • Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
  • Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
  • Willingness to complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.

Qualifications

While a teaching certification or formal teaching experience is not required, the ideal applicant may have one or more of the following:

  • Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
  • Ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
  • Teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
  • Experience teaching your own children or in a classical/private school setting.

Regina Caeli Academy will provide training for all necessary instructional and classroom management skills.

Schedule

  • Part-time, approximately 8 hours per week.
  • Classes held on Mondays and Thursdays, 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM.
  • No additional vacation days beyond RCA’s published Vacation and Holy Days (accommodations made for sick days as needed).
