Catholic Elementary Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a part-time Elementary Teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for approximately 14 hours per week in Brookfield, CT for the 2026-2027 academic year. Grades may include 1st and 4th.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for approximately 14 hours per week
• Teach grades 1st and 4th
• Sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church
• Have a deep love for the Catholic faith
• Prepare for classes at home and come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment
• Attend mandatory training on August 10, 11, and 12, 2026, prior to working in the classroom (8am-5pm; no childcare provided, nursing babies always welcome)

Requirements

• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required
• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in your Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching your own children, or teaching in a classical or private school is helpful but not required
• Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life
