Key Responsibilities
- Lead congregational singing at:
- Sunday 0900 and 1215 Masses
- Holy Days of Obligation
- Special liturgies and seasonal services
- Sing:
- Entrance, Offertory, and Communion antiphons
- Responsorial Psalm
- Mass Ordinary
- Sequences
- Passion narratives (Palm Sunday & Good Friday)
- Sing liturgical texts in Latin in accordance with Roman Rite norms.
- Rehearse with Organist outside of Mass time.
- Support funerals and memorial services as required.
- Maintain flexibility in performing both traditional and contemporary liturgical music.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Catholic cantor in a parish or military chapel.
- Strong vocal ability and confidence leading congregational singing.
- Ability to chant and sing in Latin.
- Knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy and Church calendar.
- Ability to rehearse and collaborate effectively with organist and clergy.
- Professional demeanor suitable for military chapel environment.
