Responsibilities

  • Maintains operational readiness of major equipment in assigned areas.
  • Participates in daily room checks and supplies stock.
  • Accesses and prepares patient schedules and information for assigned procedures.
  • Ensures appropriate equipment and room configuration for all procedures.
  • Collaborates with the procedure team and Cath Lab Lead/Coordinator for optimal patient care and efficiency.
  • Enters and documents patient information accurately into cath lab computer and imaging systems.
  • Documents hemodynamic measurements and ECG recognition during assigned procedures.
  • Secures patient positions on the procedure table according to procedure type.
  • Trains and competently operates cath lab equipment such as imaging devices, contrast injectors, hemodynamic systems, and other specialized tools.
  • Moves and pans the procedure table appropriately during fluoroscopy and X-Ray acquisitions.
  • Adheres to aseptic techniques and stops the line upon identifying breaches in sterile conditions.
  • Supports the physician and ensures patient safety during scrubbing procedures.
  • Performs fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition as needed.
  • Supports the department and organization in adhering to safety protocols and customer service standards.
  • Engages in patient transport as necessary.
  • Obtains and maintains proficiency in access site management.
  • Serves as the radiation safety representative during X-Ray usage.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, an associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field, or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 0-1 year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire at Pediatric facilities.
  • Preferred certifications include Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Radiography (R) by ARRT, Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) by ARRT, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) by ARRT, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT, Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS, Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS, Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS.
  • State licensure required based on modality.
