Responsibilities
- Aid cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Ensure all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, EKGs, and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team.
- Help transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition, and provide any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance.
- Track the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the Cardiac Cath Lab.
Qualifications
- ARRT-R and license as required by the state, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR Registered Electrophysiology Specialist required.
- BCLS (AHA) is required upon hire and must be kept current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required within 30 days of hire.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Previous experience in a cardiovascular lab is preferred.
- Certification in Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
