Responsibilities

  • Aid cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment, including catheters, monitors, and imaging devices, are properly set up and functioning before each procedure.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned on the procedure table.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, EKGs, and hemodynamic data to ensure their safety and provide real-time information to the medical team.
  • Help transfer patients to recovery areas after the procedure, monitor their condition, and provide any necessary post-procedure instructions or assistance.
  • Track the par level of all instruments and supplies, and provide support for both invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures in all capacities for the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Qualifications

  • ARRT-R and license as required by the state, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR Registered Electrophysiology Specialist required.
  • BCLS (AHA) is required upon hire and must be kept current.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required within 30 days of hire.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Previous experience in a cardiovascular lab is preferred.
  • Certification in Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.
