Cath Lab Technologist- PRN- Varies
About the role
The Cath Lab Technologist provides care for patients having procedures in the Cath Lab in the roles of monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating. They must demonstrate an understanding of all invasive procedures, the equipment and supplies for each procedure, and the indications for performing each procedure. Must be able to take call and live within 30 minutes of the hospital, or make accommodations for being within 30 minutes of the hospital when taking call.
Responsibilities
- Monitors patient vital signs during procedures
- Prepares and sets up operating room equipment and supplies
- Assists with surgical instruments and equipment
- Communicates with surgeon and other healthcare providers
- Ensures sterile technique and safety protocols are followed
- Documents patient data accurately and timely
- Takes call as needed
Requirements
- Associate Degree
- Two years prior Cath Lab experience, performing both diagnostic and interventional procedures, is preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required through American Heart Association
- RCIS or ARRT certification required upon hire date
Skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team
- Proficiency in interpreting ECGs and hemodynamic pressure monitoring
