About the role

Rush Oak Park Hospital seeks a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Assistant to support invasive cardiac cath and interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receives and reviews requests for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Accepts patients and assesses their condition.
• Prepares patients for procedures.
• Prepares procedural tables and rooms.
• Positions patients for maximum diagnosis.
• Operates complex equipment to ensure high-quality radiographs.
• Assists physicians table side during procedures.
• Documents exams and charges accurately.
• Maintains equipment and rooms.
• Reports malfunctions and repairs.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Checks stock inventory and initiates orders.
• Available for on-call status.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of previous experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Program.
• Registered by the ARRT.
• Current Active Illinois State License.
• Current CPR.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to handle and lift patients.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to take call on rotation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or Bachelors degree preferred.
• ACLS desirable (if no ACLS, highly recommended to acquire in 6 months-I year after hire date).
