Cath Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Assists by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
• Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure.
• Maintains par level of all instruments and supplies.
• Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
• Trains new staff in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.
• Completion of a Cardiovascular Technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.
• BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a Cardiovascular Technician training program.
• Experience: Previous experience assisting with scrubbing procedures and monitoring data, preferably in a Cardiovascular Lab.

Skills

• Knowledge of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
• Ability to monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data.
• Proficiency in computer systems.
