About the Role

St. Francis Hospital Bartlett is a 196-bed hospital dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to the community. As a comprehensive medical center, it offers expertise in Emergency Services, Inpatient & Outpatient Surgical Services, Med/Surge, Ortho, Critical Care, and Women’s Services.
As a Cath Lab Technician, you will perform direct and indirect functions in the Cardiac Cath Lab, assisting physicians and staff with clinical and technical aspects of cardiovascular care. You will scrub, monitor, and circulate in all invasive procedures, assist with inventory control, and respond to cardiac alerts and STEMI cases.
Responsibilities
- Assess physical, psychosocial, and growth and development needs of patients, completing pre, intra, and post-procedure assessments.
- Inform nurse/MD of any changes in patient’s condition.
- Develop and individualize a plan of care for procedures, including specific patient problems, needs, and scheduled procedures.
- Provide teaching and guidance to patients, families, and staff members.
- Execute x-ray for desired views, store and print images, and set priorities for patient care based on needs and available resources.
- Identify and perform appropriately in emergency patient care situations.
- Set up and monitor IABP/Impella, assist with insertion and care of temporary and permanent pacemakers, and manage all necessary equipment.
Requirements
- Graduate of a formal program in Radiology, Cardiovascular technology, or equivalent.
- Basic EKG course.
- 6 months of experience in a Cath Lab/Cardiac Intervention Lab (1 year preferred).
- BLS certification required; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
- Preferred certifications: ARRT, CVT, or RCIS.
