Catering Servers (Casual)

About the role

Gettysburg College’s Dining Center is seeking Catering Staff to work on a casual, on-call basis throughout the campus serving for various college events and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the serving line
• Ensure safe food handling
• Serve customers at specialty lunches and other private events in various locations on and off campus
• Act as the face of the College for guests (students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, prospective students and families, conference attendees)
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive customer service

Schedule

Positions work more hours during the academic year and sporadically during the summer months; flexible work schedules including nights and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions
• Communicate clearly and courteously with guests and co‑workers
• Work well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
• Maintain a professional appearance and pleasant, welcoming manner at all times
• Flexible work schedule (including nights and weekends)
• Valid driver’s license recommended with a favorable driving record per College fleet policy
