About the role
The Catering Manager oversees social catering opportunities at Seacrest Beach Resort, including weddings, in-house events, and others as directed by the Director of Operations and Support Manager (DOSM).
Responsibilities
- Detail and service Social Catering opportunities, including Weddings, Inhouse Events, and others as Directed by the DOC with support from the DOSM.
- Manage experiences to exceed guest satisfaction for every event every time.
- Achieve personal and team financial goals through upselling pricing on season and/or demand, and building relationships for repeat business when applicable.
- Showcase and promote all outlets and hotel features to all previous, current and potential clients.
- Continue to solidify Sea Crest Beach Resort’s reputation as a premier and sought after wedding & events location through well executed programs, positive word of mouth, and prospecting (when appropriate with existing customers).
- Use a variety of techniques to build rapport with both internal and external clients.
- Ensure that all terms and conditions satisfy the client's expectations while simultaneously ensuring consistent and correct information is communicated to our Operational partners.
- Maximize opportunities for Wedding Revenue by upselling menu enhancements.
- Utilize Delphi to record and track all activities and communications with clients to secure proper and professional follow up, next steps etc.
- Cover walking sites and act as main point of contact during event as requested by the client.
- Attend Group Resume and BEO meetings as directed by DOC.
- Plan and execute Wedding Tasting Event in conjunction with DOC.
- To ensure clients’ needs and requests are being met, complete Resumes and BEO’s accurately to provide detailed information regarding food and beverage events, outlet and activities department’s needs, rooming list requests, housekeeping requirements, billing details and deposits.
- Responsible for deposit management and to obtain payment in full prior to an event.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hotel and or event experience required.
- Focus on wedding experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.
- Physical ability to walk frequently for events, lift up to 20 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate the keyboard.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in using hotel communication tools such as Group Resume and BEO.
- Experience with Delphi for record-keeping and follow-up.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks effectively.
Benefits
Quarterly Incentive - up to 20%, after first 90 days of employment.
Pay
$60,000 to $68,000 per year.
