CATERING OPERATIONS MANAGER
Job Summary
The Catering Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the seamless execution of catering and executive dining services. This role serves as a critical liaison between Rapport and Restaurant Associates (RA), ensuring clear communication, accurate order management, and flawless delivery of services for senior leadership and C-suite level engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Catering & Event Coordination
- Build, manage, and maintain all catering orders within the booking platform (e.g., Book It)
- Review and validate all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to execution
- Cook up and coordinate directly with Restaurant Associates (RA) on all catering needs, ensuring alignment with service standards and expectations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all catering-related logistics between Rapport and RA
- Executive Dining Partnership
- Partner directly with the Executive Liaison to support all executive dining operations on the 8th floor
- Translate verbal or informal requests into clear, professional written communication for internal and external partners
- Provide administrative and technological support to ensure efficient planning and execution of executive-level meetings and dining services
- Financial & Quality Control
- Audit catering orders and invoices for pricing accuracy and consistency
- Ensure transparency and adherence to agreed-upon pricing structures
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively with RA and internal stakeholders
- Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between Rapport, RA, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication across all parties
- Reinforce the established service model, ensuring all catering requests are routed and managed appropriately
- Operational Excellence
- Uphold and reinforce SOPs related to executive dining and catering services
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication flow, and service delivery
- Support consistency in presentation, service standards, and execution across all events
- 3–5+ years of experience in catering, conference services, hospitality, or executive dining environments
- Strong experience managing catering orders, BEOs, and event logistics
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy (especially in pricing and order management)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate informal direction into professional communication
- Proficiency in event management or reservation systems (e.g., Book It, Momentous, Delphi, etc.) preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Proactive problem-solver
- High level of professionalism and discretion (experience supporting executive-level clients preferred)
- Ability to influence and coordinate without direct authority
- Service-driven mindset with a focus on delivering a seamless, high-touch experience
