Catering Manager - Reno Convention Center

This is a leadership position overseeing all aspects of catering solutions and special events at the Reno Sparks Convention Center, Reno Events Center, and National Bowling Stadium. The role ensures events and catering delivery requests meet customer expectations and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in planning special events and provide creative solutions to meet their needs.
• Engage with customers to define event details and create Banquet Event Orders that align with expectations.
• Offer additional food or drink services to enhance the customer experience.
• Generate Banquet Event Orders once event specifics are confirmed.
• Ensure consistent quality in event execution by scheduling adequate materials, labor, and staffing.
• Facilitate the delivery of prepared food and event setup based on banquet orders.
• Train and lead catering staff to maintain event standards and ensure high-quality presentation.
• Provide completed Banquet Event Orders to the team and verify all requests are met before the event.
• Deliver food and labor targets while managing events of varied size and scope, including staffing.
• Ensure accurate reporting of catering-related revenue, expenses, and receivables.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop team members.
• Ensure compliance with all food, occupational, and environmental safety policies.
• Adapt to changing job duties or new assignments as needed to meet commitments.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in a management or supervisory role preferred.
• Previous experience in events, hospitality, or catering preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Availability to work event-based hours.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Completion of Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lb.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Pay

$68,000 to $72,000 per year.
