About the Role

Catering Managers in our Catering and Conference Services department are responsible for selling and servicing all events. The ideal candidate is an energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. This position requires the ability to work quickly and efficiently on several projects at once, strong time management skills, and enthusiasm for a constantly changing environment. The role involves considerable interaction with clients, team members, and other departments. Occasional local travel may be required for sales calls or events. Consistent adherence to department policies and procedures (BSOPs) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of events, including selling, contracting, pre-planning, onsite execution, and post-event wrap-up.
  • Create client documents relevant to events (e.g., proposals, contracts, Banquet Event Orders).
  • Bill and collect all client payments.
  • Attend onsite and offsite events to solicit business and maintain client relationships.
  • Adapt to crisis situations, changing procedures, methods, or processes.
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Assume planning responsibilities for multiple clients and events.
  • Contribute to team success by identifying problems and proactively improving performance or efficiency.
  • Work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of professional experience in hospitality, client services, operations, event planning, or execution.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Skills

  • Speak, read, write, and understand English (other languages a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other team-adopted technologies (Delphi/Salesforce preferred).
  • Advanced typing skills (minimum 50 words per minute).
  • Accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Legible communication and clear direction-giving.
  • Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in job functions.
  • Clear thinking, calm problem-solving, and good judgment under pressure.
  • Follow directions thoroughly and understand guest service needs.
  • Work cohesively in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and resort data.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks amid shifting demands and timelines.

  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Adept at researching project-related issues.
  • High degree of responsibility, initiative, and professionalism.

Physical Demands

  • Move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 20 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or entire shifts.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Use and operate office equipment requiring finger dexterity.
  • Communicate verbally and through hearing and visual acuity.
  • Work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Adapt to moderate indoor temperatures controlled by hotel systems.
