Catering Attendant * Returning Staff Only *

About the role

The Attendant, Food & Beverage (Catering) supports catered events by providing professional, courteous service and assisting with food preparation under the direction of the Catering or Unit Manager. This role ensures compliance with Winter Park Resort policies, health and liquor codes, and all applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing procedures
• Greets, interacts, and thanks guests
• Prepares for anticipated demand by stocking work area with daily needs
• Assists in various cooking areas with basic skill knowledge
• Assists in the dish room and pot and pan sinks, as necessary
• Ensures products to be served are prepared and ready for service
• Provides service to customers on serving lines
• Keeps serving lines, condiment stands, and drink lines stocked with proper levels of disposables and products
• Sets up par-lists for work areas and assists with stocking
• Becomes knowledgeable of local facts and history to answer guests' questions
• Takes daily, weekly, and monthly inventories
• Maintains cleanliness of work areas, including food service counters, floors, walls, coolers, storerooms, bussing stations, and restrooms
• Assists in general cleaning of all F&B areas in unit
• Breaks down and cleans service stations
• Occasionally assists with on-the-job training of new employees
• Maintains a friendly, congenial, and helpful attitude while dealing with guests and employees
• Documents, reports, and takes action to correct unsafe or unsanitary conditions or policy infractions
• Tracks daily usage of products to predict future needs
• Adheres to uniform and personal standards as set forth in company handbooks
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• TIPS Certified (desirable but may be obtained after employment)
• Catering, serving, or food service experience desirable
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer functionality
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay

The base hourly pay range is $18. Actual pay will vary based on experience, education, training, location, merit system, and other factors.

Schedule

• May be required to work overnight, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours at a time
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequently required to climb or balance and taste or smell
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Continuous communication with guests, supervisors, and other employees (talking and hearing)
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment including non-slip footwear and gloves

Working Conditions

• Most work tasks are performed indoors with moderate temperature and noise levels
• May be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions
• Travel to specific Winter Park Resort locations may be required based on event demands
