CATERING ASSOCIATE (PT AFTERNOONS, 4 PM - 8 PM)

Responsibilities

• Cooking and serving meals to patients in assigned units.
• Coordinating patient menu selections and managing tray assembly and delivery.
• Addressing and communicating patient food issues, concerns, and requests to Food & Nutrition Services.
• Collaborating with nursing staff to ensure compliance with patients' nutritional needs and unit food service requirements.
• Maintaining up-to-date patient meal information on assigned units, ensuring accuracy for all meal services.
• Ensuring patient satisfaction through internal and external surveys.
• Adhering to infection control and sanitation standards, including food and refrigeration temperatures, hand washing, glove use, and proper food dating.
• Providing quality service in accordance with cultural, ethnic, and religious food preferences.

Requirements

• Knowledge of dietary restrictions, infection control, and sanitation best practices.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; additional language skills may be beneficial.
• Ability to pass a written test on modified diets provided by clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
