Catering and Premium Services Supervisor- NCCU - North Carolina Central University

About the role

Responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the food service operation within our catering department. The ideal candidate will hold a valid driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one within the required time frame and will have open or flexible availability, as catering does not follow a set schedule.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
• Direct daily activities of the food service operation.
• Maintain food production that ensures safety and quality according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
• Ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
• Maintain all serving schedules; ensure food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations.
• Conduct accurate weekly inventory according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Prepare orders as needed per vendor to ensure accurate production for the location.
• Operate an efficient, cost-effective program.
• Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
• Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.

Requirements

• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
• Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year as a lead.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Demands

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
