Catering and Concessions Service Lead (FOOD SVC WORKER LD)

About the role

The Catering and Concessions Service Lead assists in the execution of catering and concession events daily. They provide event operation support, excellent customer service, maintain cashiering standards, and assist with basic culinary tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Event Service Team Lead (50%)
  • Cashier Lead (25%)
  • Food Preparation Lead (25%)

Requirements

  • Valid California driver's license
  • Experience in catering, restaurant, or dining service
  • Experience leading and serving in a high-volume environment
  • Experience in food preparation
  • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities and objectives
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Writing skills for correspondence, reports, and training documents
  • Setup and take down of food/beverage service stations and serving formal plated meals

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in leading and serving in a high-volume catering, restaurant, or dining service-related field in the past 10 years
  • Experience in leading food preparation
  • Food safety certified (preferred)
  • Experience using computerized systems, including food production/procurement systems, and time-keeping programs (preferred)
  • Experience in PCI and managing cash handling policies and procedures (preferred)
  • Knowledge of related Federal, State, Local, and UC regulations (preferred)

Department Overview

Student Housing and Dining Services (SHDS) provides housing and dining services to approximately 15,000 students and guests, including residential, retail, and catering dining services.
