Category Manager, Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS)
Amazon Worldwide Grocery Stores is seeking a Category Manager to lead multiple facets of an omni-channel retail business, including buying, vendor management, product management, operations, and marketing/merchandising. This role focuses on identifying growth opportunities within the Perishables space and delivering results at both strategic and tactical levels.
About the role
You will own the business results of your product subcategories, managing performance across vendor relationships, product selection, negotiations, category strategy, marketing programs, sales, margin improvements, and customer experience. The ideal candidate thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, handles ambiguity, and demonstrates strong judgment, analytical skills, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage subcategory P&L
- Develop subcategory assortment and growth strategies
- Manage vendor performance and negotiate vendor investments
- Oversee pricing and promotions
Requirements
- 3+ years of Excel experience
- 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with a focus on negotiations and delivering results
- Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large data sets to drive performance and process improvements
- Expertise in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotion, inventory management, and product development
Pay
- USA, NY, New York: $80,600.00 – $141,100.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $73,300.00 – $128,300.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 – $128,300.00 USD annually
Compensation includes base salary, sign-on payments, and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
