Category Manager

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Category Manager to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. In this remote role, you will lead category management efforts across indirect goods and services, with a focus on sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and cost-effective procurement outcomes. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders to align sourcing decisions with business needs while strengthening supplier relationships and contract execution. This position also plays an important role in identifying opportunities to improve processes, rationalize suppliers, and mentor junior team members.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing initiatives for indirect goods and services
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance
• Collaborate with stakeholders to fulfill business needs
• Identify and capitalize on supplier rationalization opportunities
• Track market trends and implement improvements in procurement processes
• Coach and mentor junior team members in sourcing strategies
• Maintain and communicate effective category strategies

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in procurement or sourcing roles
• Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated success
• Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance
• Experience managing supplier relationships effectively
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement processes

Pay

$100,000 – $120,000 annually
