Category Manager

About the role

Full-time, Contract position for 6 months, remote.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize a portfolio of highly technical and strategically important materials and service categories.
• Develop and execute long-term category and sourcing strategies that enhance value, reduce costs, and strengthen supply continuity.
• Serve as the primary relationship leader for key suppliers, cultivating partnerships with both existing and emerging vendors.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and business decisionmakers to anticipate future business needs and identify market opportunities.
• Drive end-to-end supply chain initiatives across contracting, labor, inventory management, supplier diversity, e-business solutions, and cost optimization.
• Partner with Supply Operations teams to proactively resolve complex commercial challenges and improve supplier performance.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying innovative supply chain processes and leading transformation initiatives.
• Leverage market intelligence, supplier insights, and strategic analysis to enhance category effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Category Management.
• Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills with a track record of delivering measurable business results.
• Experience working with technical products, services, or engineering-driven environments is highly preferred.

Pay

$70.00 - $75.00 per hour. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
