Step into a Category Manger role within our Compression Systems and Services division owning multiple commodities and serving as the business level category leader.

Responsibilities

  • Manage global and/or regional commodities: Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (engineering, regional procurement teams, product management, operations, quality) to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality - partner with regional teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed
  • Develop and execute detailed commodity strategy to include:
    • Assess Opportunity for commodity including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis
    • Develop Sourcing Strategy for commodity detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits
    • Accountable for execution of sourcing projects including continuous improvement, consolidation, etc.
    • Define negotiation strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models, to include:
      • Cover conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection
      • Accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance
      • Delivering commodity productivity through price negotiations, supporting value analysis/ value engineering projects (VA/VE or i2V) and other continuous improvement projects
      • Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within commodity
      • Support commodity continuity of supply - engage with plants to help teams resolve escalations
      • Support region/sector NPD Procurement teams through preferred supplier programs and RFQ's
      • Forecasting, reporting, mitigating, and recovery of commodity inflation
      • Lead periodic Commodity Reviews including updated projects, metrics, strategy, and countermeasures
      • Leverage Supply Chain analytics to support identification of pipeline opportunities

  • Supply Chain Acumen – Drives global development and execution of supply chain strategies for assigned components/services, optimizing Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Leverages data-driven insights to identify opportunities and continuously improve performance.
  • Global Business Thinking / Strategy – Applies deep knowledge of global suppliers, industry trends, emerging markets, and technologies to develop forward-looking strategies and playbooks.
  • Project Management – Reviews and approves project plans, oversees execution, and balances short- and long-term priorities. Ensures alignment and clear communication across cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving – Proactively identifies and anticipates risks, leads root cause analysis, and ensures robust corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Relationship Management – Builds and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners, suppliers, and industry peers through consistent, professional communication (verbal and written).
  • Supply Chain Analytics – Utilizes business intelligence tools and ERP systems to analyze data, develop reporting, and drive actionable insights that uncover opportunities and enhance decision-making.

Travel and Work Arrangements

Based onsite from either Charlotte or Mocksville, NC
Travel up to 30% to partner with manufacturing sites and suppliers on performance optimization and commercial alignment.
