About the Role
Implement best local/sub-regional category-specific strategies. Work closely with local procurement teams to ensure, identify, and recommend “best in class” suppliers and maintain good relationships. Prepare and lead supplier negotiations at the local level.

Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy for the Transportation Americas category.
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant carrier modes (Ground, Air, Ocean).
- Specialize in strategic sourcing of transportation capacities to reduce costs and ensure quality and supply as needed by the business/function in scope.
- Manage regional sourcing initiatives (from demand analysis to contract implementation), including preparation and leading of carrier negotiations via Jaggaer’s ASO platform.
- Support Global sourcing initiatives and projects (from demand analysis to contract implementation).
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of local markets, category trends, suppliers, and key local players.
- Ensure country/sub-region requirements and issues are addressed in corporate/regional strategies.
- Prepare, conduct, and lead tenders (including e-sourcing).
- Ensure policy adherence of local divisional colleagues.
- Supplier management:
- Database maintenance
- Supplier classification
- New sources identification (Salesforce/Evolution)
- Track and maintain accurate data in Procurement tools: suppliers, rates, spend, projects, master data.
- Contribute to cooperation between countries and sourcing stakeholders.
- Connect with and influence other specialist departments and third parties (e.g., external service providers).
- Convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
- Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DPDHL managers.
- Understand customer and key stakeholders' interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers, and key stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.
- Explore new supplier types (e.g., startups).
- Support GoGreen/DPDHL Group CSR initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification.
- More than 8 years of relevant experience.
