Category Manager
About the role
Cintas is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Category Manager to develop the sourcing strategy to meet the needs of internal customers and stakeholders. This role involves using critical negotiating and competitive bidding skills to deliver cost control and reduction with current and prospective suppliers, managing supplier contracts, and continuously evaluating supplier performance relative to business needs and market conditions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze category spend to initiate restructuring of the vendor base to achieve cost savings goals.
- Seek continuous improvement to drive innovation for all products within assigned product categories.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet internal customer and stakeholder needs.
- Manage supplier contracts and evaluate supplier performance based on business needs and market conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and intranet/internet.
- 2+ years of Supply Chain experience preferred.
- 5+ years of sourcing/purchasing experience.
