About the role
The Category Development Analyst supports Diageo's Key Accounts teams with analytics and insights, ensuring that customer category management strategies are effectively executed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with retailer merchant teams and cross-functional partners to support objectives, goals, and outcomes.
- Support regular reporting and analytics to highlight performance gaps and growth opportunities.
- Utilize various data sources including syndicated data and retailer POS to build and support tools and systems for analytics and insights generation.
- Execute shelf recommendations to increase efficiency, conversion, improve shopability, and optimize space to sales using JDA and Shelf IQ technology.
- Assume ownership of assigned tools, processes, and tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Category Management, insights, or analytics, preferably in CPG or Adult Beverage categories.
- Experience working with syndicated and proprietary data sources such as Nielsen, Numerator, panel data, shopper loyalty data, and sales performance tracking.
- Strong technical capabilities with experience in software systems relevant to the Category Management function, including space planning software (JDA and/or Shelf IQ) and syndicated data sources.
- Advanced computer skills; proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to connect insight to actionable store execution.
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
- Flexible working environment required.
