Hybrid role based in Quincy, MA. Contract duration: 6+ months.
About the role
We are looking for an insightful and detail-oriented Category Analyst to support our Category Management team and drive profitable sales through effective vendor relationship management, data analysis, and collaboration with the Category Merchandising & Pricing teams.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of category plans to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Provide analytical support to inform decision-making and strategy formulation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Support cost negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and terms.
- Collaborate with vendors on product and program development initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Generate reports and insights to support category and merchandising strategies.
- Monitor and analyze category performance metrics and KPIs.
- Work closely with the Category Merchandising & Pricing teams to support shelf presentation and assortment decisions.
- Assist in promotional planning and execution to drive sales and category growth.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new products and programs.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Present clear analysis, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of category initiatives with overall business strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field, preferably in Category Management, Merchandising, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
