Catastrophic / Field Nurse Case Manager - Los Angeles, CA

About the role

The role is a home-based position with travel to doctors' offices, hospitals, and various other locations. The Case Manager is responsible for the medical case management of work-related injuries, including assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of injured/disabled individuals. They work with insurance carriers, medical care providers, attorneys, employers, and employees, and monitor the progress of the injured worker.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan for the medical needs of injured/disabled individuals
• Coordinate with insurance carriers, medical care providers, attorneys, employers, and employees
• Maintain timelines and adhere to organizational protocols
• Monitor the progress of the injured worker and report results to the employer and insurance carriers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license in CA
• Experience in worker’s compensation catastrophic case management preferred
• Experience in critical care, catastrophic injury/illness case management, or disability management
• Experience in clinical areas such as acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma (including amputation), and/or burns
• Recommended certifications (CCM, CRRN, CDMS, CRC)
• Ability to occasionally work outside of traditional business hours if needed
