Catalyst Technician (Entry Level)

About the role

Cat-Spec, Ltd. a Stronghold Company is seeking Catalyst Technicians to join our team. New hires will receive comprehensive training both on the job and in the classroom, with opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Perform critical reactor and tower maintenance services in refineries and petrochemical facilities across the country.
• Work closely with supervisors to achieve projects' goals of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Service.
• Operate and maintain company-owned or rented vehicles professionally.
• Maintain a clean environment and report any unusual findings like fused catalyst or hot spots to supervisors.
• Unload and load tubular vessels as needed.
• Assist supervisors in keeping work areas clear and free of obstructions.
• Learn and use life support equipment safely and effectively.
• Operate retrieval devices and multi-gas portable detectors.
• Monitor confined space environments and adhere to all Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements.
• Conduct confined space entries (non-inert).
• Communicate clearly and quickly in emergencies.
• Follow all Company Quality Control/Quality Assurance procedures and processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid TWIC (if applicable).
• Valid Driver's License.
• Clean Background Check.
• Pass drug screen (breath, urine, follicle).
• First Aid and CPR trained.

Qualifications

The position requires a strong physical presence and the ability to work in confined spaces. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more, and must be able to work at heights and climb ladders and stairways.

Skills

• Necessary to perform confined space entries (non-inert).
• Maintain poise and focus under time constraints and adverse conditions.
• Pass all required drug/alcohol testing and background requirements.
• Attend and complete trainings as required by the Company and client.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Team Member

A Tech B is a team member for all rescue operations and works in immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH) confined space entry conditions.

Work Environment

The job operates in a petrochemical/refinery environment. Exposure to cold and hot working conditions, noise, and hazardous chemicals may occur. Employees must wear protective hearing equipment and respirators as required. Physical demands include frequent bending, stooping, walking, climbing, squatting, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, hand strength and dexterity, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in confined spaces.
