Cat Scan / X-Ray Tech - Part Time Evening

About the Role

This position requires a Cat Scan Technologist to perform radiographic exams for patients of all age groups, demonstrating proficiency in both CAT scan and general X-ray imaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CAT scans and general X-ray exams for evaluation and treatment by referring physicians.
• Assist physicians/radiologists in procedures as necessary.
• Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Prepare or enter written documentation, including informed patient consents and patient chart documentation.
• Adhere to patient safety and radiation safety standards.
• Maintain professional behavior to promote patient confidence and trust.
• Recognize and alleviate patients’ fears and apprehensions about exams.
• Follow department policies, procedures, protocols, and infection control standards.
• Select appropriate scan sequences for filming exams using specialized computerized equipment.
• Observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.
• Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintain records of image slices, injections, supplies, and equipment handling.
• Keep assigned areas orderly and clean.
• Cooperate with personnel to ensure proper department conduct and demonstrate professionalism.
• Adhere to hospital and departmental rules and regulations.
• Participate in in-service programs and assist with other projects as required.
• Attend and work at hospital functions as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology (New York State-approved two-year program).
• New York State Department of Health Diagnostic Radiographic Technologist license.
• ARRT (R) (CT) certification specialized in CT Technology and cross-sectional anatomy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Up to one year of Radiologic Technologist experience.

Physical Demands

• Regularly communicate with patients, office staff, and medical providers, exchanging accurate information.
• Ability to lift and bend with heavy objects (up to 100 lbs).
• Long periods of standing.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Sufficient visual acuity to read and perform tasks.
• Adequate hearing to follow instructions.
• Mobility and dexterity to operate stretchers, move patients, and handle hospital equipment.

Pay

$52.918 - $56.265 per hour.
