About the role
PAML, a Labcorp company, is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Spokane, WA. This role supports our mission to improve health and lives by ensuring accurate and efficient specimen processing in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- Scan and/or perform data entry of specimen and patient information
- Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
- Replenish test bench supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associates degree in Medical Lab Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science (preferred)
- 6 months or more of hospital or lab specimen processing experience (preferred)
- 6 months or more in a clinical or research laboratory (preferred)
- Comfortable handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet turn-around times
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Pay
$18.15 to $25.32 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible for the 401(k) plan only.
