Casual Phlebotomist - Kearney

Location: Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Kearney in Kearney, NE.

Schedule

• Scheduled on an as-needed basis
• Monday - Friday
• Typically, 12-18 hours per week

We are seeking candidates who have either completed a phlebotomy program with hands-on clinical rotation or have at least 1 year of experience drawing blood in a hospital or outpatient clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies
• Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation
• Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment
• Represent the lab in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service
• May process and distribute patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• High school education or equivalent
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility
• Computer experience
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience
• Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP)
