Casual Chef

Flexible FIFO work across multiple sites in Western Australia. Join our casual Chef pool and pick up opportunities when we need you. Assignments vary in length but are generally a week or more.

About the role

As part of our casual Chef pool, you may be deployed to different FIFO sites across WA to support kitchen teams during periods of increased demand, leave coverage, mobilisation, or other operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking meals for large-scale FIFO camp operations
• Delivering consistent food quality and presentation across meal periods
• Working efficiently within a high-volume production kitchen
• Following food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements
• Completing food preparation, service, and kitchen duties as required
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Working collaboratively with Chefs, Kitchen Supervisors, and wider village teams
• Adapting quickly to different sites, teams, and kitchen environments
• Supporting the kitchen team wherever required

Requirements

• Previous FIFO Chef experience (essential)
• Cert III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
• Experience working in large-scale catering, camp, or production kitchens
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work across different FIFO sites and rosters when required
• Reliable and adaptable approach to work
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
• Australian working rights that allow you to undertake casual FIFO work
