Hawaii State Department of Education teachers must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher. If hired without completing a Teacher’s Education Program, you have up to three years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license and must enroll in an approved program immediately. You are responsible for ensuring the program aligns with the teaching line you are hired for. Upon hire, you must possess either a valid Hawaii teaching license or an Emergency Hire Permit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Hawaiian Immersion license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board
