About the role

The Cashier role at Plum Market is integral to providing exceptional Guest Service and ensuring smooth transaction processing.

Responsibilities

• Scan and ring up purchases, handle payments and coupons accurately.
• Greet Guests warmly and assist with product or pricing questions.
• Issue receipts and ensure each Guest leaves with a positive experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free checkout station.
• Assist with bagging purchases and offer carryout help if needed.
• Support stocking and cleaning tasks at the Front End when not assisting Guests.
• Follow all Plum Market policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Requirements

• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to accurately process transactions, coupons, and payments.
• Comfort using POS systems (training provided).
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
• Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
