Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude.
• Efficiently and accurately process purchases at the register.
• Share knowledge about co‑op membership, specials, and store products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area.
• Assist customers with questions and provide excellent service.

Reports To: Front End Manager

Requirements

• Friendly, positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Team player who enjoys working with people.
• Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, days, nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior cashier or customer service experience (training provided if not).
• Familiarity with POS systems.
• Knowledge of natural foods, grocery industry, or cooperatives.

Physical Demands

• Lift/push/pull/carry up to 10 pounds frequently, 20+ pounds occasionally.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motions.
• Close‑to‑mid‑range visual acuity to operate cash registers and read computer screens for extended periods.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally.
