Cashier I

Location: East Wenatchee, WA | Closing date: 10/18/26 | Full‑time and/or part‑time positions (part‑time may include some benefits). Must pass a background check.

Summary

Cashiers provide the retail store with essential register operations, excellent customer service, and sales‑floor functions. They also assist facility management in store operations by performing assigned tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest directives, rules, policies, procedures, and departmental and organizational standards.
• Perform opening tasks, including cleaning glass cases, cleaning counters, straightening the cash‑wrap workstation, and stocking supplies for the cash wrap.
• Perform register closing duties, including accurately counting down the register, processing supporting paperwork, and completing required cashier reconciliation.
• Ensure the register till and deposits are properly secured.
• Pull and stock merchandise as directed.
• Collect cash, check, or charge payments from customers and make change for cash.
• Provide cash receipts to customers.
• Operate the POS cash register system in a knowledgeable, efficient, and accurate manner (accountable for shortages and overages) according to proper procedures, including employee purchases and charges.
• Pack customer purchases in bags or cartons.
• Assist with customer service at adjacent work stations, if applicable.
• Remove clothes from dressing rooms and rehang them on racks.
• Remove merchandise stock from the sales floor to the back room.
• Answer telephone calls and provide announcements on the paging system, as needed.
• Perform other merchandise‑stocking duties as assigned.
• Represent the company by providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure recovery and merchandising expectations are met in accordance with standards.
• Successfully complete cashier training.
• Work collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services to provide participant services.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest, assuring safety of personnel or property.
• Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain agency confidentiality; violation is cause for immediate dismissal.
• Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay

Hourly wage: $17.13 per hour.
