Cashier (Host), NF-01.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests as they enter the restaurant, cafe, or dining room and checks for authorized identification.
• Escorts guests to tables and provides menus.
• Makes suggestions on menu items, answers questions, and advises waitstaff of any special requests.
• Answers phone for guest requests for takeout orders or other information.
• Packages takeout orders and accepts payment for the order.
• Performs cashier duties by receiving monies due, issuing change and receipts, and completing related cash control forms.
• May use personal computers or terminals to perform routine standardized tasks.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required upon appointment.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
• Satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• One-year probationary period may be required.
• A physical examination may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and various hours of the day and week when required.

Qualifications

• Resumes must be two pages (or less) and should clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities (KSAs) as they pertain to this position.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide at a level to complete required tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Additional Information

This job is open to candidates who live in the commuting area (the Island of Oahu). If the area of consideration is expanded, all candidates will be considered. Relocation costs will be at your expense if you reside outside the local commuting area.

Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, as a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
