Responsibilities
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance; arrives on time in a clean uniform with required name tag, ID, and licenses, ready to work with a positive, ready-to-learn attitude.
- Greets guests and team members warmly and professionally, supporting our Family Style Service culture.
- Works a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and staff.
- Engages in friendly conversations with guests whenever possible using EGE – Everyone Greets Everyone.
- Accurately inputs all orders into the Point of Sale (POS) terminal.
- Accurately posts all transactions on the Point of Sale (POS) terminal giving correct change; accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
- Records all tips collected from credit cards and complimentaries.
- Prepares specialty coffee drinks to order in accordance with established recipes and time guidelines.
- Maintain high levels of customer service at all times.
- Maintain appropriate level of stock items in area.
- Aid in maintaining display cases and pastry par levels.
- Keeps designated working area clean and organized and assists in maintaining cleanliness of surrounding areas, and condiment areas in accordance with established health and safety standards.
- Aid in training new team members and management staff during their training period.
- Responsible for periodic cleaning tasks assigned by management.
- Resolve guest complaints expeditiously and inform management of the complaints.
- Prepare and/or serve menu items.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum six months cash handling experience.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
- Ability to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Use of a computer and/or cash register.
- Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping.
- Communicates effectively and maintains positive working relationships with guests, coworkers, and management.
- Passes the required background check.
- Obtains a County Food Handler’s Permit.
- Reports to work in a neat and clean uniform, with slip resistant shoes.
- Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
- Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks under time constraints.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality.
- Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems, in a timely manner.
- Must be able to bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry above/below the shoulders a minimum of 25 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time or entire shift.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks in stressful situations.
- Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and respond to visual and aural cues.
- Able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
