About the role

The Building Company, Claremont – The main purpose of the job is to provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale, thereby maximising selling opportunities and minimising risk to the business. The Cashier must perform till procedures efficiently, accurately and courteously, to ensure the security of all receipts and the full contents of the till at all times.

Responsibilities

• Greeting the customer
• Ringing up purchases and accepting payments
• Issuing accurate receipts
• Balancing the till
• Public relations – upholding and promoting the company values and culture

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
• Helpful and polite demeanor
• Building material product knowledge (advantage)
• 2–3 years cashier experience (advantage)
• Basic computer skills
