About the role

Cashiers at Wegmans make sure customers have a positive shopping experience. They assist customers in both traditional checkout and self-checkout lanes, providing friendly service and ensuring products are properly bagged.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling; proactively offer additional assistance, thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
• Efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments when on register
• Properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
• Manage traffic flow, direct customers to available lanes, ensure the lanes are in good working order, and assist customers with system troubleshooting when in self-checkout area
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Part time availability

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
