Job Summary

A Host, or Cashier, is responsible for welcoming customers to a food service environment and ensuring they are seated and receive attentive service.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests to the venue
  • Greet guests as they enter and put them on a waiting list as necessary
  • Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions
  • Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas
  • Assign guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind
  • Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service
  • Respond to complaints and help resolve them
  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
  • Collect payments whether in cash or credit

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years old and meet any other state age or labor requirements
  • No one under the age of 18 may operate, clean, adjust or touch a slicer a mixer

Essential Functions

  • Accurately handle guest payment for meals, whole pies, and retail
  • Exhibits integrity in all actions by ensuring the cash drawer balances at the end of the shift
  • Celebrates guests with the company’s five-foot rule
  • Communicate with co-workers and management
  • Follows menu specifications and recipes, reads tickets, and maintains an organized and sanitary work area
  • Works in a fast-paced, high-pressure customer-responsive environment
  • Uses sound judgement in day-to-day decisions by applying the company’s vision, values, and cultures
