Cashier

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
• Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale system
• Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment in accordance with company procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional checkout area
• Answer customer questions and direct customers to appropriate products or departments
• Aid with front-end stocking, merchandising, and recovery tasks as needed
• Answer incoming phone calls and provide basic customer assistance
• Support overall store operations and provide an excellent customer experience to every customer

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic math and cash handling skills
• Ability to operate a computer, register, and point-of-sale system
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work assigned schedules based on business needs
• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Frequent and efficient operation of a register and handling of merchandise
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
• Lifting and carrying merchandise up to 25 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance
• Visual ability to read screens, labels, pricing, and product information
• Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions as business needs require
