About the role

Responsibilities

• Visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Understand and adhere to POS system, handling various tenders and adhering to company policy
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and adhere to food safety regulations
• Comply with safety procedures, identify and report unsafe conditions, and reinforce safety programs
• Manage conflict in a cooperative manner and adhere to local, state, and federal laws
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Desired: Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Skills

Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment

Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner

Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
