Responsibilities

• Visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Understand and adhere to the POS system, handling various tenders and adhering to company policy
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Follow established policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate departments of repairs
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions regarding products sold
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, and subtraction)
