About the role

Baker’s, now part of The Kroger Company, seeks a Cashier/Checker to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves greeting, assisting, and processing transactions in a fast-paced environment while upholding company values.

Responsibilities

• Actively greet and assist customers, ensuring a welcoming environment
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
• Handle various tender types and adhere to company policy on restricted sales
• Report and correct pricing discrepancies and adhere to loss prevention guidelines
• Stay updated with store promotions and adhere to food safety regulations
• Comply with safety protocols and report unsafe conditions
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report needed repairs
• Engage with customers, offering product information and support
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, as well as company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
• Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Previous experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred
