Cashier

About the role

This position involves assisting customers, managing sales transactions, maintaining security, stocking the store, receiving and unloading merchandise, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. The role also includes performing various duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash registers
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
